A great way to learn more about film photography is by reading Ansel Adam's following book titles: 1: "The Camera", 2: "The Negative" and 3: "The Print".

A few reasons photogographers still shoot on film, are as follows; Digital photography has come a long way, but has its limits in resolution, for example, An ISO 100 8X10 negative holds up to 750 Megabits equivalent pixel data, this would require 8 Sony Alpha 1II 50 megapixel cameras to capture the same information. Other photographers prefer the way film puts grain in the areas where it adds to the dimension and aesthetic quality of a photograph. Some photographers enjoy the process of slowing down each image, carefully measuring for light and processing the film or transferring it with light onto a print. To some photographers the historic value of being able to store the negatives as historic preservation, that could be re-scanned by future generations. No matter what the reason, film is here to stay for both professional and hobby photographers.
